Malana and Kasol are two places in Himachal Pradesh's Parvati Valley that offer a mix of culture, adventure, and natural beauty. Malana, which is often called India's oldest democracy, says it is descended from Alexander the Great's soldiers. The people who live there run things through a small village council called the "Jamlu."
